Go to the "Sound, Video and Game Controller" option and click on the arrow to expand it. As it expands, you'll see your Laptop's Sound Device. Outdated Audio Drivers of your System can be the main cause behind the audio on your HP laptop not working. You can try and update the drivers, and see if it fixes the issue or not. Click on "Device Manager" in the results to open it. After expanding you'll see your HP laptop's Sound Device listed. Right-click on the Sound Device, and choose the "Update Drivers" option.
The Audio Drivers of your System may be up-to-date, but they might be buggy. So, in case your Audio drivers are buggy or incorrect, you need to reinstall the correct drivers. Now, you'll see your System's Sound Device listed. Right-click on the Sound Device and choose "Uninstall". Confirm the action on the next mini window, and make sure you check the option "Delete the driver software for this Device" if asked. This will Uninstall the Sound Driver. Now, restart your HP laptop.
Windows will now automatically install the driver for your Sound Device. At last, if none of the above-mentioned methods is working, then it might be some Hardware issue. In case of a hardware issue, the best you can do is troubleshoot the issue. Go to the Start menu and click on the "Settings icon" to open the "System Settings" window.

In Zoom I have tested the mic and headphones. Both work in Zoom, even though the music stops. On Microsoft, I have allowed all permissions for Zoom to use.
The College Tech people verified the system permissions are in place as works for Zoom on other systems. I am a fitness instructor and wanting to play music for teaching classes, sharing my music playlists.
I want to hear the music in the headphones. It just doesn't work to play music in the background because of the conflict for the mic speaker vs. I know this should work, but, what is stopping me? What do I need to turn on? Microsoft 10 and all my drivers, etc. I have deleted and reinstalled the Bluetooth and Audio drivers and Zoom. I got this working, for a short while. It worked after I was sure my system was fully up-to-date with drivers and software.
Then in Zoom, for one day, the wireless earphones with mic worked. Since then it is stopped, no success. I am adding this reply to document my experience.
